I mention DropBox in my book, but it’s so convenient, it’s worth mentioning again! If you decide to try it, please use this link to sign up: http://db.tt/47sNj6N. We’ll both get extra free storage space!
Dropbox allows you to store and synchronize any files you choose so that they’re on all your computers and your smartphone! Simply drag and drop the folders you want to be available on all of your devices to the Dropbox folder. Gone are the days of searching through computer folders for a specific file only to realize it’s on your other computer or that the copy you have with you hasn’t been updated! Or being with a client, without your computer, and not having access to some document you really need.
Each time you turn on your computer, Dropbox synchronizes all your files. That way, regardless of which computer you log into, you’ll find your files available in your Dropbox folder. Copies of your files are also stored on Dropbox’s server and therefore accessible from any computer anywhere!
I use Dropbox to keep documents with me on my smart phone that I want available anyplace. For example, I created a document with my entire medical history so that when I’m at the doctor filling out forms, I have all the information they ask for. I update it on my desktop whenever there’s something new and know that the latest version will also be on my smart phone. I also keep a spreadsheet showing account balances for clients who pre-pay. That way, I always know exactly where we stand.
Dropbox gives you a generous 2GB of free storage; there’s a small fee if you want more.
