Eventbrite
I first became aware of this service when I was invited to a networking event via Eventbrite. Registering and paying was so easy, and when I got to the event they had a name tag waiting for me! I’m glad to share this with you if you don’t already know about it!
Eventbrite is a free, self-service ticketing site that lets you organize and publicize events of any size that you, your company, or your organization will be holding. You fill out the online forms, and Eventbrite turns the information into an announcement with all the details. You can personalize the appearance using your photo, your company’s or organization’s logo, or any other image you choose. Eventbrite even promotes it for you by listing your event with search engines, if it’s open to the public. Of course, for private events you can import your own contacts for email invitations. The site has tutorials to walk you through every step of the process.
Sophisticated features include attendee online registration and payment along with professional barcode ticketing that allows for discount codes and other distinctions. You can run the process through their site or your own; you don’t even need a merchant account. And for day-of-event convenience it automatically creates name badges and a sign-in list.
Eventbrite is free as long as your event is free. If you sell tickets they charge 2.5% plus $0.99 per ticket. And there’s the fee that any merchant account would charge for payment processing, too.
